NCL Umpires
Patrick Gillmann (NCL President and course conductor), Claude Hugot, Arlette Meurine, Didier Meurine, Philippe Estienne. Missed on the picture: Philipe Bonnefois.

The New Caledonia URC is proud to welcome the first 5 international umpires in its country. After a course conducted by Patrick Gillmann under the special responsibility of Graeme Ireland, 5 of the 7 candidates were successful.

New Caledonia is the 1st Pacific Island in Oceania to welcome International Umpires. Until now only Australia and New Zealand could provide IU’s and it was a real problem to organise high level events in this continent due to technical official’s lack. The Oceania URC Chairman, David Delpratt, congratulated the laureates and he wishes that it will show the way to other Oceania countries to have the same success.

The New Caledonia President and ITTF EVP Patrick Gillmann, is very proud and he hopes that it will encourage other Pacific Island to present candidates at the next IU’s exam in 2016 to increase the number of IU’s from different countries of this continent that was, until today, far behind in the world in matter of IU’s/ country.
