The top seeds have made it through the first two rounds unscathed at the 2019 ITTF-Oceania Cup in Bora Bora, French Polynesia.

In the Men’s Singles, Australia’s Heming Hu dropped just one game in his opening two encounters, defending his top seeding at the event. Host nation’s Ocean Belrose provided some resistance, taking the only game, but ultimately Hu proved too strong for the local star. The defending champion will face last year’s silver medallist in the last round of the group stage later today.

Meanwhile, second seed Nathan Xu continues to fly the flag for New Zealand. Β Xu has cruised through his opening two matches, and is yet to drop a game.

In the Women’s Singles, defending champion Jian Fang Lay looks to already have her eyes on the title. The top seeded Aussie has been in blistering form, securing her opening two encounters at breakneck speed. It was a different story for the no.2 seed Jiayi Zhou who has had to fight her way past a determined Melveen Richmond and Grace Yee, dropping three games along the way.
