Table tennis is taking over Mornington
Table tennis is set to take over Mornington, Victoria from the 6th-8th of December. Watch as Oceania’s best athletes compete for a ticket to the team’s events at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, followed by the 2019 ITTF Oceania Tour | Australia.
“ITTF-Oceania is excited to showcase the best Table Tennis athletes from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea at the 2019 ITTF-Oceania Team Qualification tournament.’ said Barry Griffiths, ITTF-Oceania General Manager. ‘The highlight will be where the best of the best players will be competing for their dream to represent their country at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with a team spot up for grabs in Mornington, Victoria, Australia. We would like to thank the Victorian Government and Double Happiness Shanghai (DHS) for their amazing support and also our partners, Mornington Peninsula Table Tennis Association.”
Athletes from across Oceania will compete on the 6th of December for a golden ticket to represent their country in the team’s events at the upcoming Olympic Games. Followed by two days of competition for the second last stop of the 2019 ITTF Oceania Tour on the 7th-8th December, where $4000 AUD will be up for grabs as well as ranking points to qualify for the prestigious 2020 ITTF Oceania Cup.

With the Olympic Games fast approaching, all eyes will be on the stars of Oceania as they battle it out to qualify for Tokyo 2020 with the likes of Heming Hu, Nathan Xu, Melissa Tapper, Grace Yee and many more contesting for the once in a lifetime opportunity to compete at the Games next year.
