Dirk Wagner and the Butterfly TT School Zugbrücke Grenzau in Germany has donated a bag of table tennis shirts and shorts for the Pacific Islands.

“In our society we forget too often how lucky we are and take things for granted. It is therefore a pleasure for me to share some of our spare Butterfly equipment to those who have a use for it.” – Dirk Wagner

Dirk Wagner is head coach at the German Bundesliga club, Zugbrücke Grenzau. Previously, he was coach at Borussia Düsseldorf, where he led the team to European Champions and Bundesliga League titles. His experience also involves working for the German National Association, specialising in talent identification as well as previously being the Head Coach at the Werner Schlager Academy.

The donation of gear took place while Australian Patrick Wuertz visited Zugbrücke Grenzau. Wuertz is currently being mentored by Wagner under the 2017 ITTF Mentorship Programme; an initiative which helps aspiring coaches learn and exchange thoughts with some of the top practitioners in their field.
