ITTF-Oceania is pleased to announce that Ignacio Rizo Patron has been appointed Events Officer, while Rowan Fajerman has taken on the role of Oceania Participation Officer.
Ignacio Rizo Patron has a strong background in sports and event management. He completed his tertiary studies at Bond University, attaining a Bachelor of Sport Management. Up until this appointment Ignacio worked as the sport and commercial manager for Deporcentro Casuarinas in Peru, where he was responsible for the marketing, promotion and staff management of Soccer 7s events.
Ignacio will be responsible for implementing ITTF-Oceania’s strategic plan to establish and enhance sustainable, entertaining events in the region. The appointment is another step in implementing the strategic investment made by ITTF earlier in the year, which will see an investment of significant financial and human resources into the region to assist its commercial growth, and the popularity of the sport.
Rowan Fajerman has taken on the role of Oceania Participation Officer. He has Graduate Certificate in Sports Management and recently finished his second Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) assignment working as a Disability Inclusion Officer in Tonga, having completed his first AVID assignment in 2014 as an AFL Development Officer in the Solomon Islands.
“Ever since my first experience in Solomon Islands I’ve always wanted to return to the Pacific. My recent experience in Tonga with Tonga Table Tennis has been fantastic and cant wait meet and work with the other national federations. There’s such huge potential for sport in the pacific as well as opportunities to make positive impacts through sport. I’m excited about the opportunities Table Tennis can provide as it’s a sport accessible and enjoyed by all members of the community.” Rowan Fajerman
