Australia’s Nicholas Lum has won bronze at the 2017 ITTF World Hopes Challenge in Luxembourg.

Lum went through the qualification group stage undefeated, winning all his matches in straight games.

Despite losing his semi-final matchup to eventual gold medalist Navid Shams (IRI), Lum was able to notch up the win in the bronze medal playoff against Luis Maciel (POR) to take third place on the podium.

Compatriot Hannah Green, was unable to progress beyond the group stage, finishing fourth in her group in the Girls’ Singles.
