korbel_31_08_12_LargeThe ITTF-Oceania Development Program, working with Table Tennis Australia, have been able to secure 5-time Olympian and former WR Nr. 16, Petr Korbel of the Czech Republic, to visit Australia and provide advice and assistance to a number of clubs within Melbourne to assist in improving their High Performance opportunities, while providing a wealth of knowledge and experience during each visit.

In order to provide as many coaches, players and officials with the opportunity to benefit from Petr Korbel’s visit more focus has been placed on local level activities within the Melbourne region at various locations from Monday January 21st to Thursday January 24th. Petr will make visits to the Coburg Table Tennis Association, Croydon & Districts Table Tennis Association, Dandenong Table Tennis Association, and the Ballarat Table Tennis Association.

From Friday January 25th to Sunday January 27th a combination of theoretical and on-table sessions will take place in a central location to avoid additional travel between the sessions.

In addition to the outline above, opportunities for free training sessions for the members of Table Tennis Australia’s national junior and development squad will take place under the supervision of Petr Korbel and Jens Lang.

Also, Table Tennis Australia will first and foremost target coaches that have a level 2 or higher accreditation, but experienced level 1 coaches will not be turned away, in joining with these training sessions.
