The Queensland Junior Championships came to a conclusion yesterday in Mackay, with the state’s best junior players all out in action.

It was an intense three days of table tennis, with a jam packed schedule of teams and individuals being held. On top of this the age groups went from Under 18 down to Under 11.

The tournament also had the unique element of incorporating a live Facebook broadcast of one of the tables.

In the premier Under 18 events, Yiming Xu defeated Mateo Dvorani in straight games in the Junior Boys’ Singles, while¬†Rebekah Stanley won in straight games over Lavinia Bradshaw in the Junior Girls’.

The Australian National Junior Championships is being held in Hobart, Tasmania in early July, and the state junior championships will be the primary tool for selection for the Queensland teams.
