The group stage has concluded at the 2019 ITTF-Oceania Para Championships with the top seeds cementing their place in the draw.

Australia leads the charge in the Men’s Singles Class 6-10. Nathan Pellissier heads the field after the group stage and will be looking to defend his top billing once the knockout stage gets underway. New Zealand’s Victor Kamizona sits alone amongst an otherwise all Aussie field. The Kiwi will face Connor Holdback as they both look for a place in the semifinal. Meanwhile in the Women’s Singles Class 6-10, Melissa Tapper cruised in to the main draw, reserving her place alongside teammate Andrea McDonnell.

Fiji’s Kope Taberanibou had a standout performance in the Men’s Singles Class 3-5. Trailing Australia’s Caleb Crowden 0-2, the Fijian held his nerve to muster a comeback and take the match in the fifth. The win secured Taberanibou the top place in his group. Mere Roden also survived a five games duel to keep Fiji hopes alive in the Women’s Singles Class 3-5. Roden saw off a competitive Haley Sands who pushed the game the distance with some help from the home crowd.

Be sure to catch the action live on our Facebook page. Semifinals get underway at 19:00 (GMT +9:30).
