Wu has his eyes on the prize

Fiji’s Vicky Wu and Grace Yee have maintained local pride and come away with top honours following the ITTF-Oceania Tour | Fiji. Held in Suva from the 7th-8th September, the event saw competitors from across continent fighting for both titles and points on the ITTF-Oceania Tour Standings.

In the Men’s Singles, Fiji’s young star, 14-year-old Vicky Wu having recently competed in the ITTF-Oceania Junior Championships in Tonga last month, upheld his top seed position to reach his first finals on the ITTF-Oceania Tour. Wu was able to see off the challenge from teammate Phillip Wing, winning 4-1 (11-5, 10-12, 11-9, 11-8, 11-6). It was a solid performance from both players but the young gun was able to hold off his older opponent and claim his first-ever ITTF-Oceania Tour title.

In the Women’s Singles, it was an all Yee affair. Sisters Grace and Sally battled once again for the top honour. Having lost the title in last year’s event in Fiji, younger sister Grace held off Sally to take the title 4-0 (11-5, 12-10,11-9,11-7). It was a stellar performance from Grace who had only dropped one set the whole competition.

Congratulations to all the winners of the 2019 #ITTFOceaniaTour | Fiji ????????????????
